  • “The room is a self-contained studio flat,” said Clark. “The property was occupied by a couple with a young daughter. They had not had any leaks in shower room, and didn't have any hot water to the hand basin in this shower room either. Mr Dulay did eventually do the work.”

  • MB Estate Ltd, a well-known local firm that owns and manages a number of homes in north Bristol, failed to fix a leaky shower at a flat in Montpelier – which soaked through into a neighbouring home, while a tenant at another property in Horfield went for months without a long list of faults at his home not being resolved by the landlord.

A common problem with leaky showers or tub faucets has to do with a washer that helps seal the outlet and prevents water from coming out when it is turned to the "Off" position. If the shower head or faucet is leaking, it is possible that the washer inside the mechanism is worn out, improperly installed or is the wrong size. Removing the old washer and replacing a properly fitting or new washer will usually stop the leak in this instance.

    Leaking shower supply

I would love to replace the braided (plastic) 1/2 inch supply riser, however I can't find how to access the other end's connection point at the shower faucet. It just goes inside a tube from the underbelly.

Do I have to remove the entire shower enclosure? That's more than I can comfortably do and hate to spend the big bucks to have the dealer do it.

Is there any other way to access it?

    Thanks everyone.

    Leaking shower

Finally bought our first Airstream after 2 years of looking and watching this forum. We ended up with a 2003 Safari 25SS that looked like it was taken care of and in good shape. However, on our first trip out (which we are still on) I noticed that when the shower is on there is a large amount of water coming through the belly pan around the black water pipe. This is right under the corner shower. My first thought is a busted trap, but I can't see much to tell. Any thoughts on where to start? Drop the belly pan, or start from inside somewhere?

We are loving the AS. So many great people at this AS park. We went ahead and joined WBCCI and are looking forward to rallies and possibly even some caravans.

I'm Terry with Towers Murray Plumbing, here to show you how to repair a leaky shower faucet problem. Now, when repairing a leaky shower faucet. Most common, people think when a shower head leaks, that it's the shower head itself that is the problem, and it's not. Your problem is in the valve itself, you have a cartridge or a stem. This particular one's a single control, we'll show you how to take apart, here. First thing here, is remove your handle. This one has a nice, little sleeve that needs to be pulled off, called in as kitchen. And, there's some kind of a keeper, this one has a U-shaped clip. Some of them will have a small nut that screws on. Once you remove that, you can remove that cartridge, take it down, match it up. I can say, this is what actually leaks, when it drips out of your shower head. The water runs out the backside of your wall, leaks out of the shower head. This is what needs to be replaced. Once you get your new one, and slide it back in, and just work it in reverse. And again, I'm Terry with Towers Murray Plumbing, we've showed you how to repair a leaky shower faucet .

In some cases, you can fix a leaking shower diverter valve by tightening up the screws behind the face plate of the valve itself. In other cases, however, you'll have to entirely. While this is still not an exceedingly difficult task, you run the risk of additional mistakes. Be careful to purchase the exact same make and model of diverter valve as a replacement. Different types of valves may have minute variations in size and function which can make them incompatible. Speak with a sales person at your local hardware or plumbing store for additional assistance if you are having a difficult time determining which replacement valve to purchase.
